When I was creating my menu, I wanted to go for more of a homey diner vibe, so because of that i chose to use greens and light browns. I used mostly bigger, bolder fonts to help make them pop on the menu, and give that diner vibe i was going for. I created the mac and cheese, plus the roast beef dish using the pen tool. I used the colors I used to give more of a homey comforting vibe, also a warm vibe.
Design Matrix Challenge
when it comes to color, my use of green and gray in the design exemplifies the PRINCIPLE of contrast, doing this enables it so it's easier to captivate attention and emphasize specific aspects. WHen doing unity, I always made sure to provide a sort of equilibrium. I also had fun doing texture, it actually came easier to me than the others.
WHen i would come up with an idea, I realized that a lot of what I would go for tended to be either circles, squares, and stripes. Although when it came to color I lent more towards organic shapes.
Storyboarding Project
The story first starts by introducing a boy, he is seen fighting, the audience would be overwelmed by the fighting before it suddenly pauses, where we introduce our main character who goes on explaining his life. He describes that he is moving to south korea after living in washington dc all his life, that he is moving in with his korean step father that his mother had married. it also shows him discovering his new room and unpacking with his mom, basically making this the start of a new permanent chapter of his life.
Rough Character Sketch
-Walker Banks Walker is a 32 yr old farmer who lives in alabama with his dog molly, walker tends to be pretty chatty and laid back, but when he wants to he can also be a bit of a flirt. he also tends to try and avoid negative attention, but if you start an argument with him, he will by any means finish it. he's one of the characters of a story i created and he would be one of the two main characters/love interest.
-calliope Calliope is a 209 yr old dragon hybrid species, she has been roaming the earth for that long and tries to keep up with the ever changing language changes and fashion trends! she tends to be pretty accentric with people she is comfortable around, and a bit shy around people she doesn't really know well. she loves fashion and clothing, and loves to change her hairstyle almost every week to keep in trend, which tends to be pink and yellow themed most of the time.
Spiderweb Waterfall
In this activity, I got to do more with masking to help create and image above, which is demonstrating spiders on a waterfall that I thought showed a type of "web" texture with the water. Instead of just erasing I was able to use the masking layer so that while I was erasing, I could "color" back anything that I erased with the brush tool. I also got to use shadows to help better anchor the spider images onto the background and help them standout, I did that by creating another spider image on another layer and coloring in black, and blending it out to give a softer shadow appearance.
Vignette
I got to use a lot of new tools, such as the lasso tool, it was really helpful to quickly select the image from the rest of the picture, the masking tool was interesting as well, i also used pass knowledge on clipping masks and layer options to help match the hue of the image with the background more and change my background to a more night like color. Instead of just using the select tool and eraser tool, i instead used the lasso tool and feathering tool to create the fading effect of the ghost in the image. it helped improve my knowledge in combining two images together to create a new one rather than just drawing it from scratch, also reinforced my knowledge on masking.
Basic Modeling
I began the project by reviewing the documents provided about basic modeling techniques and tools, I then watched the videos about the objects I was going to be creating. I decided to start off with making the wine glass first.
I liked how we got to go more into the tools of the program and exploring the different ways you can model.
The easiest was for the steps by step process of making the wine glass, the hardest was animating the nut and bolt.
I used a lot of basic polygon modeling for this project.
I can bend and twist objects now to give me a unique shape, I can also "cut" from objects with another shape as well.
I learned the skills of using the twist modifier, splines, and the loft modifier!
Maybe a bit more instruction in some areas, but overall this project was very straightforward.
